This M1 Garand was purchased from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) in January of 2002 as a “Collector Grade” M1 Garand. The rifle has all matching H&R parts and lots of correct markings on it. It has a strong bore, nice finish and looks great. Our Assessment: This Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand was made in 1953. The sling is in about Very Good to Fine condition. The metal tabs show oxidation and scrapes, The sling shows creases and a few spots of light soiling. The rifle also comes with a green canvas sling marked “MRT 7-59”. They are in about Very Good to Fine condition. The certificate and paperwork have been folded they show creasing. The shipping paperwork is marked “M1 GARAND COLLECTOR GRADE 30 CAL” and with two CMP seals.
